Korean automaker Kia to live up to expectations and showroom in New York next to a third-generation version of the Rio sedan and facelifted crossover Kia Soul. The changes relate to both the appearance and the techniques used.
Major appearance modifications can be found on the bow of Soul. Upgraded crossover least Kia Soul has modified headlamps with LED daytime running lights, front grille has a new chrome line. The changes relate to the front bumper with expressive curves. The car's rear end, new LED lights and a slightly revised bumper.
Novelty in the 1.6 GDI petrol engine with direct injection, which debuted last year in the Kia Sportage and Hyundai ix35 fraternal. His performance will be in Kia Soul, 99 kW, the peak torque 164 Nm. Four-cylinder engine will not only be stronger than previously offered 1.6 gasoline, but also economical. Kia says its consumption of 8.4 l/100 km city and highway consumption of 6.9 l/100 km.
Modifications were made to the two-liter unit, which now reaches 118 kW power, its torque is 194 Nm. But the question remains whether this engine will be imported to Europe. Until now, the Soul – liter is intended only for the U.S. market. Indicated consumption of the modernized hp in the city is 8.7 l/100 km on the highway then 7.1 l/100 km.
Both engines can be ordered with the newly offered six-speed manual and automatic transmissions. Current Kia Soul offers only five-stage manual or four-stage machine.
The interior will be improved by better audio systems and hands-free infotainment releasing system, already known from the Sportage SUV. Offered a premium equipment package expands on the car heated front seats, leather upholstery, automatic climate control and navigation.
Kia Soul made since 2008. The expected strengths as a high value for money, quality and modern technology, the car had to add uniqueness, style, timeless, and the possibility of individualization. The main task of the car was not only reach the traditional customer of the brand, but also new ones who had the car in the Kia not consider buying.
